Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
After breakfast, your private driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. The journey begins by crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains through the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass, one of the most scenic mountain roads in Morocco.
Along the way, you will enjoy panoramic views, traditional Berber villages, mountain landscapes, and beautiful valleys. We will make several stops for photos and short breaks before reaching the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most impressive fortified villages in Morocco.
Ait Ben Haddou is known for its traditional clay architecture and has been used as a filming location for many international movies and series. You will have time to visit the kasbah, walk through its narrow streets, and enjoy the amazing views from the top.
After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Depending on time, you can stop for photos near the famous film studios or the Taourirt Kasbah. Then we continue through the Valley of Roses and beautiful desert landscapes toward Dades Valley.
Dades Valley is famous for its dramatic rock formations, kasbahs, palm groves, and peaceful views. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel or riad, enjoy dinner, and relax after a beautiful first day of the tour.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Erfoud → Merzouga Sahara Desert
After breakfast, we leave Dades Valley and drive toward the impressive Todra Gorges, one of the most beautiful natural canyons in Morocco. The high cliffs and narrow passage make this place one of the most famous stops on the road to the Sahara Desert.
You will have free time to walk between the cliffs, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the gorge. After the visit, we continue through several Berber towns and desert landscapes toward Erfoud, a town known for fossils, dates, and its location near the Sahara.
From Erfoud, we continue to Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi welcome you. Upon arrival near the dunes, you will meet your camel caravan and start a beautiful camel ride across the Sahara Desert.
During the camel trek, you will enjoy the magical sunset over the dunes, one of the most unforgettable moments of the tour. After arriving at your desert camp, you will have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful desert atmosphere.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a magical night under the stars in the Sahara Desert.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Ifrane → Fes
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Sahara dunes. This is one of the most beautiful moments of the Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour, as the first light of the day changes the colors of the dunes.
After breakfast at the camp, you will return by camel or 4×4 to meet your private driver. Then we start the journey toward Fes, passing through the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves, kasbahs, and panoramic views.
We continue through Errachidia and Midelt, a town located between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains, where you can stop for lunch. After lunch, the road continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar forests near Azrou, where you may see Barbary monkeys.
Later, we pass through Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets, alpine-style houses, and mountain atmosphere.
